Aerial views show the wide spread devastation and the progress of the cleanup from a spill where 5.8 million gallons of coal ash sludge spilled onto the Emory River, and the surrounding area caused by a breach of a retention pond on the property of the Tennessee Valley Authority's Kingston Fossil Plant on December 22, 2008. An access Road is being built from the peninsula known as Quails Nest to the ash spill and will be used by equipment in the recovery.
